CRISPIN CAMPBELL, CELLO (of Interlochen and the Neptune Quartet), JOE WILSON, DOBRO (of Steppin In It), and STEVE STARGARDT, PIANO (of the Traverse City Philhamonic Jazz Orchestra) make up the mad Angler Trio.

THE DEEP SOUL OF THE CELLO, THE HIGH LONESOME SOUND OF THE DOBRO, and THE FLOWING HARMONY OF THE PIANO work together in perfect harmony. INSPIRED BY THE WORK OF INTERLOCHEN POET MICHAEL DELP (AKA THE MAD ANGLER), THE BAND EXPLORES AN UNCANNY REGION WHERE A CLASSICALLY BASED CELLIST, A BLUEGRASS DOBRO PLAYER AND A JAZZ PIANIST FIND COMMON GROUND IN AN EVER-CHANGING MUSICAL CONVERSATION. GIVING A NOD TO BACH, SOME DEEP ROOTS BLUES AND AMERICANA, WITH A NATURAL CONNECTION TO JAZZ STANDARDS, THE MAD ANGLER TRIO TAKES YOU ON A LISTENING ADVENTURE NOT TO BE MISSED.

The Benzie Youth String Program is brand new to the area. It will supply free of charge all that is necessary to learn the violin: the instrument, music stand, music books, and supervised instruction from professional musicians who have devoted their careers to teaching children.
