Live at the Garden with:
Daisy May and Little Dipper
Saturday June 20th @ 7:30pm
"One of the Midwest’s (and northern Michigan's) most prolific and passionate songwriters, May Erlewine (Daisy May) isn’t afraid to say the hard thing."
"From boot-stomping anthems to heartstring-pulling ballads, Little Dipper delivers the songs you grew up loving—played the way they were meant to be played."
Opening for this concert is John Richard Paul!
John Richard Paul got his start playing music at a relatively young age, beginning with saxophone and piano before moving over to the electric bass. In college he performed weekly with a handful of acts in and around the Lansing area, while also gracing stages regionally and nationally, opening for such acts as All American Rejects, The Format, and scores of other early-2000s indie acts.
Since moving back to his hometown of Traverse City in 2007, John has played bass for and with a who’s-who of Northern Michigan musicians and bands including: The Bihlman Brothers, Levi Britton, David Chown, East Bay Drive, Drew Hale, A.S. Lutes, Chris Michaels, Mike Moran, NMC Jazz Big Band, One Hot Robot, Miriam Pico, John Pomeroy, Elizabeth Rivers, Jack M. Senff & The Heartland Mission, Chris Sterr, Stolen Silver, Strobelite Honey, Sweetwater Blues Band, Jonathan Timm, Clint Weaner, and The Wild Sullys, to name but a few.
Live at the garden with:
Mason Via
Friday July 10th @ 7:30pm
"Mason Via is transcending musical genres with his unique brand of what has been described as Appalachian funky folk, soulful acoustic, rhythm and bluesgrass and groovy Americana."
Opening for this concert is Jack M. Senff!
Jack M. Senff (“sen-eff”) is a Northern Michigan singer-songwriter, performer, and leader of the so-called Heartland Mission. He trades in a literary, pop-based vernacular informed by a love of old folk rock, country, church, 90’s adult alternative, and a youth spent in the living rooms & basements of the late-00s “do it yourself” punk movement. He is a founding member of pioneering screamo acts Merchant Ships and William Bonney, as well as the bands Knola, Midwest Pen Pals, North Folk, and Boy Rex.
Live at the garden:
Cruz Contreras And The Black Lillies
Friday August 14th @ 7:30pm
"Raised between the rugged lines of Tennessee and the long shadows of Michigan, Cruz Contreras has spent nearly thirty years forging his path through the Americana musical landscape. He’s a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, bandleader, producer, and storyteller whose voice cuts through noise like a well-honed blade."
Opening for this concert is Agnes Su!
Agnes Su, a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and aspiring Folklorist, lives in the forests of northern Michigan. She began her career in music when she was five years old by studying and performing with the Grand Rapids Strings Academy.
Agnes Su has since worked with Hawks and Owls String Band and recorded with Major Murphy, has booked a handful of local shows, and has organized a successful fundraiser for the non-profit, MusiCares. She and her backing bands have performed at Wheatland Music Festival, The Spirit of the Woods Folk Festival, and at venues such as the Alluvion, Old Art Building, and Traverse City Opera House. She regularly hosts the Folk Aire program on local college radio station, WNMC. Most of all, Agnes is a gal with a country western heart.
