What is Stories That Heal?
Stories that Heal is a music, storytelling and community wellbeing project focused on mental health and healing through lifting local stories and musical expressions in Benzie County. The 2025 iteration of Stories That Heal builds upon a very successful pilot festival in 2021. The project includes community dialogues, story sharing circles and community creative workshops. Many are struggling through hard times right now and Stories That Heal strives to be a project that can help those in need find healing. A free community concert and community dialogue will be presented at The Garden Theater on Sunday May 18th. Those who are interested in participating are encouraged to attend one or many of the songwriting circles or storytelling workshops. During these workshops, participants will channel their stories/experiences into an original song/story/poem with the help of a trained artistic facilitator.
